2.1. Common grammar and punctuation errors

Be aware of the most common errors in advertisements.

Spelling
Spelling mistakes are one of the most frequent reasons for rejecting advertisements on VK. Checking spelling can be done in editors like Microsoft Word, Pages or any other service. To run online check, use Yandex.Speller.

Uppercase and lowercase letters
The first word of each sentence must begin with a capital letter while all other letters should be lowercase. Options like "SALE", "sale Washing MACHINE", "DiScOuNt" are unacceptable. Exceptions are made regarding proper names, registered trademarks, institute names, and well-known abbreviations. The names of cities and countries should be written with a capital letter.



Emojis
Emojis are graphical emoticons like . No more than six emojis are permitted within the text of an advertisement.

Punctuation
Special attention should be paid not only for using correct punctuation marks, but also for correct typography.
After any punctuation mark, it is necessary to add a space with the exception of dashes and hyphens, which require spaces before and after. Repetitive punctuation marks, underscores, parentheses, emoticons, and special characters are not allowed.



Advertisement text integrity
Advertisement texts should comply with restrictions on the number of characters so that the texts do not end in the middle of a word.

If you use the formats Community ad and Special, changing the advertisement title is impossible thus requiring it to be reduced to one whole word. If the title still looks incomplete or loses its logic, you must rename the community so that the first 25 characters of its name are correctly displayed in the advertisement.
