Collecting audiences by action in advertisements

Have you launched a Vkontakte ad? Save users who have done any actions with your ad for free to contact them again or, alternatively, to exclude them from next advertising campaigns.

Retargeting by actions with advertisements is available only for the Advertising record format.

What tasks can be solved by advertising for collected audiences?
Event retargeting is useful for any business. Here are a few examples:
  • Online stores can show ads with similar products to those who clicked on a product ad or �liked� it;
  • Those who are attracted by your promotional video, for example, watched it at 25% or 50%, you can show "product" ads with a specific offer;
  • You can create a Look-alike audience on the basis of users who �liked�, shared a post with friends or joined a community.
  • And on the contrary, exclude all those who have hidden advertising or unsubscribed from the community from the audience of future advertising campaigns. You can work with this audience separately, for example, by offering them a discount for a service or product when they join a community.
What actions are available for collecting audiences?
  • Viewed the record � users who saw the record in the feed and paid attention to it. In this case, users who scroll through the record will not be counted.
  • Followed the link � the following clicks are counted:
� reference via @ user or group in the body of the post;
� # hashtag in the body of the post;
� the post author�s name;
� the �Go to", "Subscribe", �Join", etc. buttons ;
� a snippet.
  • Liked the post � users who �liked� the ad record;
  • Shared a post � users who clicked "Share" and posted the record on their personal page or in the community.
  • Subscribed to the community � users who went to the group by any link in the advertising record and signed up within 24 hours. Direct transition, joining and click on the "Subscribe" or "Join� buttons in the record with a snippet are also counted.
  • Went to the community � users who went to the group from an ad by the link in the header or in the body of the post.
  • Unsubscribed from the community � users who left the community.
  • Hid the post from the news feed � users who clicked on �Not interested� in the feed. Users who have hidden all news from the source will not be counted.
  • Started to watch the video � users who started watching the video. It helps to identify all users who watched the video, regardless of the duration of viewing.
  • Watched the video for 3 seconds. If you need to identify only those who watched 3 seconds of the video, you have to collect the audience who watched the video by 25%, 50%, 75% and completely, then exclude these audiences from those who watched 3 seconds of the video when the ad starts.
  • Watched 25% of the video. If you need to identify only those who watched 25% of the video, you have to collect the audience who watched the video by 50%, 75% and completely, then exclude these audiences from those who watched 25% of the video when the ad starts.
  • Watched 50% of the video. If you need to identify only those who watched 50% of the video, you have to collect the audience who watched the video by 75% and completely, then exclude these audiences from those who watched 50% of the video when the ad starts.
  • Watched 75% of the video. If you need to identify only those who watched 75% of the video, you have to collect the audience who watched the video completely, then exclude these audiences from those who watched 75% of the video when the ad starts.
  • Watched the video completely.
  • All positive actions � this retargeting audience will include users who clicked any links, �liked� and shared advertisements.
  • All negative actions � this audience will collect all users who hid the advertisement or complained about it.
How to set up collecting audiences?
Collecting audiences by action in advertisements can be set up when an ad is created in the Audience Saving Settings box.

To set up the collection:
  1. Go to the creation of an ad.
  2. Select the retargeting audience where users will be saved. If there is no audience yet, you can create a new one.
  3. Select the actions by which the audience will be collected. Any combination of events that fit your goals are available.
  4. If necessary, you can add some more retargeting audiences and set up a list of actions for each. .
After the ad is started, all users who performed the selected actions will be automatically added to the specified retargeting audiences.
