I just think that people who write about technology should have a disclaimer about the tech stack they use

Doug, I really like the idea of a /colophon page to my site. I think it would be nice to do something like a /now page, where it displays the latest Now post. This would then allow me to update it if/when it changes.

Another thing to add to my itches.

My post on automating my /now page was very popular and I am proud of what I managed to do but I’ve been thinking for a while it’s very impersonal. It’s data. It’s not a page written by me in any meaningful way.

Leon had some similar thoughts on this with an idea for each blog post being a section of a page but rendered as one. The end goal for him, and me, is that the new additions get syndicated via RSS, POSSE, and so forth. I like the idea of redirecting /now to the latest post tagged as now so one could see the latest version of what I’m doing now.

I have always been interested in the idea of a Now page, it is something that I miss about my newsletter. However, I felt that replacing the content loses the history. I really like the idea of writing a post and having /Now pick up the latest post.

πŸ““ IndieWeb Itch – Better Search

I have a new #IndieWeb itch, that is extend the search capabilities for my Commonplace Book. I have a practice of saving pertinent quotes within the response properties. However, on research, I have found that the standard WordPress site search only looks at the title and body. Although there seems to be various options to extend this, I am not sure if these will support searching within the Post Kinds fields. One option would be to include the quotes within the body of the post, like Glen Cochrane does. However, I would prefer to extend the functionality of my site.

So here’s where I’m at right now. I’m using the IndieMark list to work through it all. This will get a little technical, so if it’s not interesting, please move on with your day.

Kimberly, I like the way that you have unpacked your itches and achievements in this post.
