Description
English: Nymphenburg Palace in Munich photographed on silver chloride paper by Carl August von Steinheil and Franz von Kobell. This is presumably the image made on 28 or 31 July 1839 in the presence of Queen Therese. Steinheil and Kobell claimed that they made their first photographs before anyone had published anything on photography. Throughout April and mid-1839, Steinheil and Kobell presented their photographs on silver chloride paper of buildings in Munich.
