Deutsch: Die am 1. Januar 1975 aus der Vereinigung der früheren Stadt Bietigheim mit Bissingen an der Enz hervorgegangene Stadt verbindet in ihrem Schild Wappenfiguren ihrer Vorgängerinnen. Der in den Bietigheimer Siegeln seit 1474 belegte Turm wurde schon in der ersten bekannten Wappenzeichnung von 1535 silbern auf rotem Grund dargestellt. Er bezieht sich wahrscheinlich auf einen 1542 eingestürzten Burgturm, der zuletzt als Glockenturm der Stadtkirche gedient hatte. Das Patriarchen-Hochkreuz mit gespaltenem Fuß gelangte von Marksteinen des Spitals Markgröningen in das frühere Bissinger Gemeindewappen. Das Spital hatte im 15. Jahrhundert das Kirchenpatronat sowohl in Bietigheim als auch in Bissingen erworben. Am 12. Juli 1976 verlieh das Regierungspräsidium das Wappen und die Flagge. |
