Assistive Touch screen rotation is not working

main goal was upside down rotation as to not obstruct the charging port(i am aware there has been problems specifically with upside down rotation). as far as i’m aware the rotation won’t flip upside down naturally so i turn on assistive touch to manually rotate the screen. the rotate screen function does absolutely nothing. the button responds to my touch(turns blue when activated) yet the screen will not move regardless of the phones orientation or direction of rotation(landscape/portrait). i restarted my phone twice and checked to make sure rotation lock was off about 3 times. in between each step… did i miss an update making this feature useless or?

Seems you are doing all the right steps, yet without the expected result ... maybe check that the app you are trying it in does support screen rotation ... eg: try it when watching a video, playing a game, or editing a photo etc. to see if screen rotation is working ok.

For a particular app: Check in its own settings for display or rotation options. Some apps may have no support for rotation, or it may need to be turned on for the app.

Else: You might want to check whether your phone's iOS version is up-to-date. Updates often contain bug-fixes or security updates, Some may even add new features etc,

You can check if an update is available by going to Settings > General > Software updates. (Reminder: If you choose to update the iOS, it is always wise to back-up your iPhone first.)

You can customise some things ...

Eg: You could try setting up double-tap gesture to activate screen-rotation
