Bavlinsky District (Template:Lang-ru) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Its administrative center is the town of Bavly (which is administratively not a part of the district). District's population: 14,566 (2002 Census);[3] 56,709 (1989 Soviet census).[4][5]

  5. ^ The urban-type settlement of Bavly was granted status of the town of republican significance in 1998 and was no longer included in the population counts during the 2002 Census. This explains the sharp drop of the total district population.
