Britannica at Encyclopædia Britannica
Template documentationThis template can be used to provide a link to the Encyclopædia Britannica's article on a given subject.
Usage
Add the following to the "External links" section of an article:
* {{Britannica|<page id>|<optional title>}}
<page id> is the numerical value given in the URL of the Britannica article in question. For instance, the article for "pancreas" (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/440971/pancreas) would use:
* {{Britannica|440971}}
There's no need to include the text after the numerical value (/pancreas in this case).
<optional title> provides an optional title for the link in place of the name of the Wikipedia article, in case the Britannica article has a different name for some reason (i.e. a Latin rather than a common name): For example, the Wikipedia article for the common Daffodil is titled Narcissus pseudonarcissus, while Britannica uses Daffodil (plant). As such, the link would be formatted as follows:
