Humaithara (also spelled as 'Humaisara', 'Al Maithara') is an isolated town in the egyptian desert located in governorate of Aswan in Egypt. The town is sorrounded by hills in all the four sides. The Holy Shrine of Imam Nooruddin Abul Hasan Alee ash Shadhili is located here.[1]

The shrine of Imam Shadhili

The core tomb

The core tomb bunder which the Imam Shadhili's grave is found was constructed in the year 1259 A.D. (656 Hijri) immediately after the death of Imam Shadhili. It will be visible only when you go alone.

Almost all leaders (shyukhs) from Bait Al Fassi, Makkah have visited the shrine of Imam shadhili their Sheikh here in Humaithara.

The well of Humaithara

There is a well outside the shrine.Imam Shadhili's gargled water was poured in this well on the day before His death.[3] The water in this well located in the mid of a deserted humaithara never goes dry through out the year. The water of this well is much pure and this well caters to the drinking water needs of the local villages.
