A beautiful, more stripped-down and naturalistic side of Genevieve's musical work. I couldn't pigeonhole a band as earnestly original as Menace Ruine, but for a while I've conceived of their sound as being kind of dungeon synth-adjacent, and that adjacency shines all the more on this album in a pleasing way. The field recordings create such a lovely sense of place on this album and invokes a sense of having been welcomed into a healing ritual.
