Native extension fails to build for JRuby, Rubinius and ruby-head

How difficult would be to use FFI for native extension? If you consider FFI I may try to implement it and send pull request.

ruby-head has been fixed with 46939f3.

For Rubinius see #15.

I am not able to compile this gem under JRuby ...
