Is there a way to test email settings?

Setting up a reminder for tomorrow and waiting for it isn't really an ideal debugging method.

NM, I found the api endpoint that sends out emails. Am I reading this right that you have to set up a cron job in the container to actually send the reminders?

Not necessarily within the container, the cron job can be set up anywhere that can reach your instance, but yes, a cron job is required.

I might humbly change this to a feature request to make LubeLogger a bit more approachable for the less tech savvy:

• adding a "test reminders" button to run that api call
• building scheduling of reminders into the application directly

In the next release, if no parameters are passed into the send reminder API endpoint, it will default to ALL urgencies, this is done so that it is easier to test out the API endpoint, we've also added a functionality so that you can CTRL+CLICK the endpoint on the API page and it will run the endpoint in your browser.

Regarding point no.2 of building the reminder scheduling into the app itself, that's never going to happen, sorry. There just isn't any good cross-platform solution that is lightweight enough to integrate that functionality into the app. The implementations are always some type of polling(check every second for the trigger time), utilizes Windows Task Scheduler(breaks cross-platform support), or a major dependency(Hangfire).

If we were to build the scheduling into the app itself, it is almost certain that we will have to create a whole new admin page so that users can set the time of when those events get triggered and how often they get triggered, that's just scope creep we don't want to deal with.
