It makes more sense the way it currently is, enter total gallons/liter and then total cost or unit cost. Then the unit cost or total cost is calculated. It makes more sense to enter these number because that is what is shown on the pump when you are finished.
I prefer to enter unit cost and then total units. This is the way Fuelly does it and I find it simplifies things when I fuel up. I can enter my odometer reading, unit cost, tags, etc. while the tank is being filled. When it's complete, I only have to enter the number of gallons/liters and hit submit. I know it's not a huge deal, but it's a few less taps before I drive away.
In reality, I'd love a settings toggle that allows you to select the default for the Cost field, either Total or Unit. Two fewer taps 😄
I'm used to adding the cost per liter and the total cost, as an input, and the app calculate the liters.
