I needed to be a member of OpenSearch org before I can be added as a code owner for migrations repo.

Hi @akshay2000 ,

We do not add members unless they are becoming a new maintainer.
You can already contribute to the repos with existing readonly access.
To become a maintainer you need to have enough contributions, going through nomination process, and reviewed by the admin and LF in order to join.
