[BACKPORT] Indices deletion in leader cluster do not get replicated in follower cluster

There is a feature in 3.x version of Cross Cluster Replication Plugin that we would like to have in 2.x version: opensearch-project/cross-cluster-replication#1556.

It depends on changes in OpenSearch Common Utils (opensearch-project/common-utils#667), that were backported to 2.x branch (opensearch-project/index-management#726), but haven't been released yet, so these changes are impossible to use in 2.x version.

Could you help us with releasing or/and backporting changes for 2.x version of OpenSearch components?

2.x line is in maintenance only mode. Hence it would only receive CVE and critical bug fixes. We would recommend to upgrade to recent versions for utilizing new and upcoming features.
