Search bar - submit form or open URL for selected item

Hi,

Trying to make what I think is a simple concept. I have thus far had a form with a single text input, that works as a search bar and GETs something like /search?q=TEXT. Now, I want to add "auto complete" functionality to it, that I may select one of the matching entries in order to open that page directly. I managed to do that like this:

ts.on('item_add', value => {
    ts.clear()
    location.assign(`/clients/${value}`)
})

However, I still want to the ability to press enter in order to submit a free text search query. That no longer works, as pressing enter does nothing.

I would also prefer that the first match was not automatically selected.
