We are a small team and we primarily use Github for managing tasks. It is part software development, but also quite a lot of other tasks such as hardware development and general management. As we have all our software hosted on Github we didn't see a good enough reason to use another software to track Issues when we already had access to Github.
We are currently struggling a little bit with a lot of tasks requiring cooperation between several persons in the team. We have previously assigned one Issue to several persons, as then each person can find the Issue he is involved with. This has put us in the situation where it is very hard to keep track of who is finally responsible for an Issue, as most Issues are assigned to several persons.
What I would want is basically to keep one person assigned to a task, i.e. having main responsibility for making sure it is being worked on. But I also want the other persons involved in this ticket to easy find out where they are involved. There could for example be a view in Projects where each persons can see the Issue where he/she is responsible, and another view to show the Issues where he/she is involved.
This would make it so much easier to follow up on progress at same time as getting a good overview of who is working with what.
Additionally it would be nice to have a field with "Involved persons", similar to "Assigned" for the issues where you can make sure to involve the persons you know should be involved to keep them updated.
I tried to search for this and found the involves:USERNAME. This doesn't work with the new Projects though.
I have thought about adding a custom field in the Project, but that doesn't enable you to use the field type for persons. I haven't found any other reasonable way to make this work in Projects. If anyone have any ideas or workarounds, I'm all ears!
I guess this would be similar to the "Participants"-field, but also add the ability to assign people without necessarily mention them and also make it possible to filter on this field.
