Unable to filter Result grid in ADS

Hello, I apologies if it's not right place to ask this question ... but I need some help from GitHub ..
I have an issue with using 'filter' in Result Grid for big number of records.

E.g. when I select e.g. 50K records ... everything works fine. When I select 100K records ..and click on down arrow (filter) it shows me the records ... I could select one record but it does not filter it out. And if I select e.g. 200K records .. it doesn't even open a list when I click on filter.

Hence, my assumption is that it's related to memory management on my server. I tried to contract GitHub ... but no luck with response. It significantly impact my work because every time I have to export Result Set and analyze it outside of ADS. I have the same issue on 2 computers: Windows 10 running on PC and Windows Server 2019.

RAM is 8 Gb and a lot of virtual memory.

I set this field: Query Editor › Results: In Memory Data Processing Threshold 99999999

It didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated ... because it impacts my daily business and export results every time is not convenient thing ..

It is like a memory management issue. You might want to try optimizing your query or using pagination for handling large datasets laminat oder parkett. That might help reduce the load when filtering large result sets.

Maybe I was not clear with my request: my query is simple and can't be optimized. E.g.,
select inventoryid from inventory
In other words ... there is nothing to optimize in query. Optimization is needed with Result Set handling.
The issue is only with filtering Result Set. It looks to me too as memory management issue. My assumption is that it's memory handling/configuration inside Azure Data Studio(ADS).
I simply don't know how to handle it.

@kingwest56 - I don’t know the answer to your question. I only stated that I experience the issue only when working with Results grid. My assumption is that buffering needed to use filter is not enough or some other limitation

@chiraaax - your response is invaluable. I completely agree with all your thoughts.
Last question on this subject: I do have SSMS on the same client as ADS but I am not aware that I could filter Results grid in SSMS. Could I? That could be good approach in my case: use SSMS for large data and ADS for less than 50K.
Could you share your experience on data filtering inside SSMA?

@chiraaax - I tried to follow your steps ... but I don't have an option 'Filter" in column header of Result Grid. The only option for Filter I could see in database e.g. for filtering tables or other objects. I did not find any option for filtering Result Grid. Do you have it in your case? I run SSMS v18.12.1
I'm not sure it's configuration issue or it's not designed for filtering Result Grid. I checked Tools-Options but didn't find anything reference Result Grid filtering

It is like a memory handling issue, especially with larger datasets. Have you tried optimizing your server or adjusting the settings for handling bigger result sets in GitHub or the ADS you're using? Increasing memory allocation or checking if there are updates could help snapseed qr code. It's frustrating when you have to export data for analysis, so hopefully, you can find a solution soon.

@davidbrown722 I don’t have control on server and I don’t think that I need to change anything on server. Server is quite powerful and optimized for my tasks. The issue is on client side I.e., on ADS.
I think that increased all thresholds as I could.
My point or assumption is that’s ADS memory handling issues for filtering Results Set.
I suggest that I am not alone having this issue.
