Translate the Language using a Slider.

Because the Same Content is Twice on the same page.
It minimizes the web page and removes the duplicate content.

Hi @Radhika-Saini, Public Lab has translations in several languages. We also have a language drop down that serves the same purpose as the slider.

Thanks, @TildaDares . But there is duplicate content present on the page which is not a good practice I think.
We have to remove that atleast.

@Radhika-Saini Can you share a screenshot of the duplicate content?

@TildaDares Like on this Page https://publiclab.org/wiki/welcome
First, the content is in English then the same content is in some other language.

@Radhika-Saini I think the user who authored the wiki did that intentionally.

@TildaDares Okay But As you said Public Lab has translations in several languages. We also have a language drop-down that serves the same purpose as the slider. I search for dropdown but I did not found.
I face the problem of searching the dropdown and still not found. This problem can be faced by anyone.
So, When the sites loads, a pop-up has to come to choose the language or The dropdown has to be visible on the front of the Home page which helps the user choose their language, and then the whole website will run in the chosen language.

@Radhika-Saini You can find the language dropdown in the footer.

But @TildaDares That should be in the Header. What do you think about this?

@Radhika-Saini That sounds interesting. Where in the heading would it be?

@TildaDares This dropdown can be on the left of the Dashboard in the header. because it's on top and everyone easily chooses the language they are comfortable with.
For example, a person visits the site for the first time, They don't know about the feature of choosing a language and face problems in understanding the content in a different language, and going to the footer section is always in the last of the reading the website. So, there is no mean of Language dropdown in the footer section.
It should be on top.

@TildaDares, A pop-up can also work for the same.

@Radhika-Saini I totally understand your points but the language drop down doesn’t belong to the header because it’s completely different from the content we have there now. Also, if you look at Google’s search page, you’ll also see that the languages are also at the footer.

@TildaDares I understand it.
As many websites are present only in 1 language but the Public Lab website has the feature of language translation of the website and the user is unaware of this. So, we have to do something to tell them about this feature first.
