ONLINE - To the Red Planet Planetarium Show

Event Date:
Thursday, February 18, 2021 to Friday, February 19, 2021
Event Description:

Our theme for February 2021 is Celebrating Perseverance's Encounter With Mars. We are showing four different planetarium shows this month, two on odd-numbered days and the other two on even-numbered days, so that visitors can attend planetarium shows at noon and at 2:15 pm two days in a row and never see the same shows twice! February's Mars-themed shows will take you from the preparations NASA is making to send humans to Mars, through the weather on Mars and other planets, to a futuristic Mars settlement design!  Check the calendar and click on each item for a full description. We recently  installed a brand-new glorious surround-sound system, so that, coupled with our new-in-2020 laser-phosphor projector (Digitarium Lambda Plus), you should have a great "being there" experience with all of our shows!

On February 18th, Perseverance will attempt to land on Mars. That seven-minute landing is a nail-biting event for everyone who has given so much for so many years to bring this mission to fruition. Assuming all goes well, on February 19th we will have special videos about the mission running in the planetarium lobby all day (during planetarium hours) and will show special Perseverance short topics before our Mars-themed main shows.
