Learning

Heya @Minorax, Thanks for regularly clearing up my translation markup. I look at the diff each time to learn. I understand the edits, except for one bit - the link names. You changed them to all be "1" instead of the various numbers I had. Please correct my understanding of this when you can: the link names do not have to be different because they are in their own translate section T1, T2, etc. I do understand you are busy and I aim to do better so I can be one less item on your list. :) Best, JKoerner (WMF) (talk) 06:36, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. For the tvar links, it is ok to have all of them as "1" as each translation unit (T1, T2, ...) is unique. Using incremental numbers are only needed if they link to different pages within a translation unit. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 06:48, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great! Thank you for clarifying. :) Best, JKoerner (WMF) (talk) 23:30, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Translation variables

I know we discussed this previously and effectively agreed to disagree, but having noticed that you have done the same more recently, can I ask you to please stop changing my variable names to numbers. I consider it to be unnecessary and we disagree on whether or not it is discouraged. — OwenBlacker (Talk; he/him) 22:24, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
