Is this a movie?
Some kind of play, or a fantasy?
We wait for what was said to be recalled
And suddenly realize they won
And it’s a grind
Every time that I got something, I’m always out of time
Always out of line
Always into something I could never quite describe
I’ll pick you up
In Tennessee
Miranda
I was underwater when you made the call
But you would never know
‘Cause I could always say what you wanted
Every time I woke up in the car
Dreaming of the nightlife like a waitress after close
And they say don’t you think you should be responsible and all
And I don’t
I’ll pick you up
In Tennessee
Miranda
And you say I’m nothing, and I know yeah
It’s not a hard sell
And if you could forgive me I’d follow you around
Like everyone else
But I promise I could wait by the water there
I swear, if that’s what you wanted
But that’s not what I’ve found,
No

Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley
Dark but designed to move you, this Dallas group uses menacing synths and popping live drum to make heavily rhythmic post-punk. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 13, 2019
The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
