This one really goes deep. Tremendously heavy and bleak, yet crushingly groovy as well. You can easily see these guys destroying any venue they'd hit live with this. The heavy hitting slow to mid-tempo tunes are sort of tranceinducing. It's very easy to listen to it multiple times in a row or even get lost in it totally. mourner

The most austere Russian Circles release yet. But in restraint these tracks find new levels of heavy. Nowhere is this more evident than the closing of the third track, "Gnosis". That shit is savage. Absolutely primal. rettisawesome

"I would've loved to hear both bands collaborate to do the heaviest music that they can do, considering how well it would've fit the dark title, but this is what I never knew I wanted to hear."

An tempestuous post-rock journey inspired by the existential threat of climate exchange, "Triumph & Disaster" overflows with grace and grit. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 9, 2019
The latest Djunah LP channels the duo's heavy, intensely cathartic sound to reflect on living with and healing from trauma. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 14, 2023

Extremely tasteful and innovative musical vocabulary and moods can be found on this album. The amalgamation of tape, electronics, classical string and brass let's them standing out in the ever growing post-rock genre. Others do this as well, but not as gorgeous and interesting as BRUIT Frank Hadlich
