Tupi settlements have some bizarre names as Abacaxi (pineapple), Pipoca (pop corn), Minhoca (worm) and Piroca (the worst one, use a translator to get its meaning).
So I researched to get better names for the settlements. The first thing that I noticed is that Tupi in reality is a linguistic group. Some tribes that spoke Tupi languages:
- Tupiniquim
- Tupinambá
- Potiguar
- Tabajara
- Caeté
- Temiminó
- Tamoio
- Tupiguaé
- Tupiminó
- Juruna
- Xipaya
- Tapajó
I will research for more names, but I think there is absolutely no need for around 50 names, as in the game I saw 6 of them.
If Tupi chief is Tibiriçá, capital can be Tupiniquim (his tribe), but the leader can be changed to Cunhambebe, a Tupinambá chief known for his ferocity. Tupi tribes were cannibals and warmongers.
There were some tribes that Tupi people called Tapuia, which is something as Barbarian. They were tribes who don't speak Tupi languages. There could be a Tapuia people ruled by Janduí with these settlements:
- Tremembé
- Aymoré
- Goytacaz
- Charrua
- Guayaná
- Puri
- Payaku
- Caripu
- Icó
- Caratiú
- Cariri
- Arani
- Maromomim
- Piratapuia
Tapuia tribes lived something between Tupi tribes to the south of South America - Charruas lived in current Uruguay. Their language was usually from Macro-Jê
I also researched for Guarani tribes, which can be ruled by Sepé Tiaraju, with the following settlements:
- Karió (or Karijó)
- M'biá (or Embiá)
- Guarajo
- Izozeño
- Tapieté
- Tobatin
- Guarambaré
- Itatin
- Mbaracajú
- Araxá
- Kainguá
- Karai
- Kaiowá
Guarani tribes lived mostly in the center of South America, in the neighbourhood of current Paraguai to the South of Brazil. It is also a language and official language in Paraguay alongside with Spanish.
I will keep researching for historical tribe names as well some still living as possible. I will post more when I get more data.
If someone can point a mistake, it is ok for me, I will research better. But these names are far better than the current bizarre names.
