Yesterday I have brought my linux machine back to live. New distro Mint 20.1, new installation of IDJC 0.9.1. The installation went smooth, IDJC is up and running, but... one more thing needs to be done.
The last fully operational installation for me worked on Mint 18.3 with IDJC 0.8.15, ampache 3.9.0 and MySQL-server 5.7.
Now it is IDJC 0.9.1 (as 0.8.16 had the bug with 'in the DJ's mix' ), ampache 3.9.0 (again) and MySQL-server 8.0 - ampache was set up easily, can be accessed from the php-webpages (localhost/phpmyadmin and localhost/ampache), but IDJC with python3-mysqldb 1.4.4 drops the connection all the time.
Do you have any ideas how to get this last piece running again?
Thank you for your input and advise.
Did you select a catalog? If you don't select a catalog then IDJC will seem to connect and right away disconnect from the database.
The first time you start IDJC, you have to click on View and enable Music Database. Then you can select the catalog(s) to use.

Hallo Brian,
you know what... thanks for the advise... the music database view was checked... but the database window extension to the left was narrowed to zero width and could not be seen anymore. After playing around with idjc I figured out that there must be something "hidden" on the left hand side... and after I hit the correct arrow to adjust the width I managed to see the database section in idjc.
Now it's ok again, but it was harder to set up the idjc-GUI correctly than to establish the DB-connection indeed.
