Play button doesn't start the music playing

The PLAY button on the IDJC application doesn't play the song, it just sits there. Everything is connected and configured successfully with Shoutcast on my server, the only thing left to do is play some music, but when I press the PLAY button the play bar doesn't move and the timer doesn't begin. Nothing happens, even though the button looks depressed.
I have experienced things like this for mp3-files which did not have a gain information stored on the tags/file. Gain the songs or store the gain information on the files and they will start playing. This does not affect ogg-vorbis-, wave- or flac-files.
Just my findings...

@Holger Craemer, I would be interested if you would install eyeD3 and run in a console the command below substituting the file location of one of the problem mp3 files:
Is there is a LAME tag on there with an abnormally quiet Radio Replay Gain value? Values in the range +10 to -12 are reasonable while -100 would play so quiet you wouldn't hear anything. IDJC uses the Radio Replay Gain value as a last resort.
I just pushed an update to GIT which fixes a potential problem where mp3 playback could result in a crash provided libmpg123 is being accessed via dlopen.
To check for vulnerability launch idjc from a console and look for a line of output as follows or very similar:
