Hello!
I need som advice. Not a major problem, but annoying:

I'm using Ubuntu Studio with IDJC. Had troubles to get my micro to work, so I deactivated pulse audio.
This helped a lot - afterwards IJDC works fine, Streaming is fun.

So far so sood - but when trying to listen to youtube etc. on palemoon there is no sound. Befor starting IDJC sound worked fine. Next discovery: When palemoon is up IJDC doesn't start.

Figured out that the problem is linked to JACK.

But: How can I Manage to get sound from palemoon & IDJC at the same time?
Would be nice to preselect songs bevor putting them into playlist if a listener requests a song.

Thanks for any help!

Palemoon requires Pulseaudio and if it is playing audio out on same audio device JACK is trying to connect it will prevent JACK starting, but still need to get Pulseaudio out of the way for JACK to start

for Ubuntu Studio you should use another installed application QjackCtl to control JACK

need to select same audio device hw:0 in QjackCtl settings
other main settings will be probably be same as you had working for IDJC
    (sample rate: 48000 / Frames/period: 1024 / Periods /Buffer: 2)
use Save button before closing settings

before pressing QjackCtl Start button stop all other sound playback

When QjackCtl is started, it will take control of audio device from Pulseaudio
and also creates an audio connection Pulseaudio JACK Sink

Palemoon will have to be set in Pulseaudio to use this new connection
but then audio from Palemoon can go through JACK to be heard on same device as usual
or connect it to IDJC input channels for Aux button to play to stream

Use Graph window in QjackCtl to check or change the JACK connections

I also love to use Patchage for visualization and connecting things, makes it MUCH easier if you run a lot of extra stuff (3 microphones, silentjack, ebumeter, KORG nanoPad2 as cartwall control and some other stuff).

Hint: Right-click on the IDJC symbol (in Patchage) and select "split"—this makes it even easier to use.

Pipewire makes this problem a thing of the past when they put out releases that let JACK applications make port connections.

Anyway, I always found Pulseaudio sinks to be unreliable in the extreme (with an average uptime of 5 minutes). Before that there was bio2jack for ALSA which did the same thing by which I mean it made connections from ALSA apps to JACK and also stayed up for about 5 minutes.
