LDE(X)6.4 files are now available.
Repository snapshot corresponding to the 6.4 release is also available.
Unstable development snapshots available. Please (ab)use to whatever extent appeals. All feedback to the usual places.
Now available in the files system. Apologies for the delay in making this available on sourceforge.net. Please check the support boards at http://ldex.terica.net/ for updates and news about the second and final (hopefully) release candidate for LDE(X)6.3.
These were available elsewhere for some time, but are now also available from the sourceforge.net file release system. Please report issues, etc. as you find them.
The final release of LDE(X)6.2 is expected within the next day or so, according to Amtal (the release manager for 6.2). There have been some bug fixes since RC1 so an updater will be made available for those users in addition to the full ZIP release.
An installer will follow shortly thereafter.
It's taken a while longer than expected, but all good things come to those who wait. RC1 is indeed imminent, with final QA going on as this is being written.
The countdown has started......
Work is still ongoing for RC1 of LDE(X)6.2 and we're still looking for translators, testers, etc.
A further update from beta 2 will be released shortly to bring users to beta 2.8 and allow some of the recent changes to experience testing.
The Gilda scheme for LDE(X) has been updated for compatability with LDE(X) 6.2
Read the included text file for more details and installation instructions.
Lots of changes in this one and we now have compatibility with Windows XP SP2.
The surprise in this release is LDM from Amtal - it is a hugely flexible (in appearance and operation) shell switching interface. It's still an early alpha release, but has been working well for the development team.
Have fun with beta 2 and, please, let us know what you think is good/bad/ugly.
Beta 2 is getting nearer so stay tuned. LDE(X)6.2 is still scheduled for a release before Summer 2004 and we need your help to ensure it's bug free and feature packed.
They are already available on ldex.terica.net, but will be uploaded here on sourceforge.net just as soon as we can find time.
A new beta release of LDE(X)6.2 will appear shortly, but for now, it's still W.I.P.
LDE(X) 6.2 beta 1 is now available in the file release system. Included in this build are a number of important fixes to the WSH Core services and what will most likely become the stable implementation of OTS2 and NetLoad support for the 6.2 branch.
Please report any issues with this build at our forums.
Amtal is handling the release schedule for LDE(X)6.2 and beta 1 should be appearing reasonably soon. You'' find information in the forums via the home page link above.
Alpha 5 of the LDE(X) 6.2 dev series is now available from the file release system. Due to the relocation of some files in preparation for the maintenance and release of the WSH Core as a separate package, this is a full release and not an update. We recommend that you archive your current user data and install this version as a new release.
Along with various bug fixes and the enhancement of previous alpha code features, this release includes the WSH ports of navigator and type, easily accessible documentation for most WSH scripts, a basic troubleshooting script, better support for OTS2 theme credits and preliminary, specialized support for the Gathering theme.... read more
The work on LDE(X)6.2 has begun and we're splitting off the WSH-based sCore engines into a separate package with this release. This allows for separate maintenance of the code without having to queue everything up for a release and should make development easier as well.
OTS2 support is currently W.I.P. with two different implementations that will need evaluation.
The forums contain information about the current state of development for those who might be interested.
We're looking for translations primarily into the languages above, although any are welcome. If you feel able to contribute, please check the manual for more information and get in touch through the support boards here or via the home page link above.
A bug fix for Windows 2000 users amongst other feature and developer oriented changes, this release is currently in late development. More info shortly.
A very small update to bring a French translation and some optimisations to the LDE(X)6.1 release will be made available shortly.
There are no bug fixes because there are currently no outstanding issues to be addressed - this is purely a feature-related upgrade :)
Expected to be the final RC, although possibly not quite final code. At the moment, there are a number of small fixes in place and it's just going through QA. Expect it within a few days.
I am still looking for any translators who might be willing to help out. Please leave a note in the support boards using the home page link above and I'll be in touch :)
A gaggle of new releases are up for the existing (contributed and otherwise) schemes, plugins, icons and interfaces.
Some of these are provided with the default installer, but others are add-ons. All are provided in case of maintenance required outside of a normal release, so check the release dates to see if there are newer plugins that you can use with your current LDE(X)6.x edition.
Note that none are backward compatible with LDE(X)5.3.2 and requests to back-port will be politely ignored due to time constraints.
This release has been provided for all those who want a non-Core based LDE(X) distribution. As is evident from the release title, this is considered obsolete and any fixes will have to come from users. No work is being performed on this code base.
All existing plugins and schemes for this release are now available as well, but please note that none of these will work on LDE(X)6 or later due to changes in architecture.
There are some important notes for existing users so please check the changelog and release notes for this release.
There have been some major changes since the last pre-RC1 release so please test all areas (including documentation!) and provide feedback to the developers.
We're just hammering a few last minute details and issues out, but expect RC1 within the next week. Existing users may need to make some manual changes to allow this update to work well within their environment, but more details will be made available shortly.
