Thank you very much for responding. You have made me and my wife very happy. We love VMG! VMG problems with windows
VMG Doubles Taskbar Rows
No help
Just installed latest VMG. When I try to run it, I get: john@JohnDesktop:~/Software/VirtualMagnifyingGlass$ /usr/bin/mag -r mag (ps2pk) version 1.8 Usage: mag [-r] [-Rdpi] size . . . What do these parameters mean? What is a reasonable invoking command?

FYI - Stating it was Fixed in v3.2 is a mistake on my part. It was automatically populated as such when I submitted my ticket.
Virtual Magnifying Glass only works when run as administrator. Why?

Hi. I use VMG 3.71 with Ubuntu-based Linux. When I click on the box on the taskbar to invoke VMG, a menu drops down with many options. The first is "Show Magnifying Glass." Up comes the frame of the magnifying glass. But the menu doesn't go away. It lies atop some of the text I'm trying to read. Is there some way to fix this? I love VMG, and previous versions didn't act this way. Thanks.
Hello, I am sitting in front of my smart tv and use it for various things (preferably gaming), i do also have a computermonitor connected to my pc that stands about four meter away, on this monitor i use apps like backuppers and i want to monitor the progress but i cannot see the progress because it is to far away. I am looking for a fixed magnifier and if it would be possible a magnifier that can show a window (only a small part) on my smart tv from the computermonitor, i can't find any software...

Hello, I just downloaded VMC on my Thinkpad Yoga Carbon running Windows 10. The download seemed to go fine however when I click on the VMG icon not only does it open the magnifier as it should (about a 1"x2"window) but it also magnifies the entire desktop. Is there someway to open VMC without magnifing the surrounding desktop? Thanks

Hello, Do you receive e-mails sent here? I don't have a Windows machine right now, but the problem is probably due to the configuration file. You have to find it. Search these pathes: C:\Documents and Settings_MY_USER_\Application Data\magnifier.ini or C:\Program Files\Virtual Magnifying Glass\magnifier.ini I would try to: 1> Uninstall 2> Delete both configuration files 3> Install again please let me know if this solution works for you. -- Felipe Monteiro de Carvalho
I discovered the classic version works only when I right click the desktop icon and select "Run as Administrator" and then click "Yes" to allowing the appt to make changes to my computer. This is inconvenient. I still would like only to have to click the icon in my Taskbar and have the app open in Classic mode. Still need help. Thanks.
Virtual Magnifying Glass won't work now
I realize this is a really old thread but I cant find a solution to this either. I believe enrique really meant was to SHOW THE CURSOR ON THE ACTUAL AREA MAGNIFIED to see what is magnified. Ive installed the utility for my mother and she cant use it because this crucial feature is missing: either you see the magnified text and not what is magnified, or the actaul screen. Hoped for behaviour would be to show the magnified part on the SIDE of the actual mouse or cursor position. You know, like a baloon...
Good Morning, Good Morning, I am a network security analyst with the Houston Police Department. We have a user that is interested in using your product. I have to do a security evaluation on the product before allowing it to be installed. Could you please assist me with answering the following questions? Some may not apply to your product: Are there any port and protocol requirements for this software? If so, what are they? What is the traffic direction? Inbound? Outbound? Bi-Directional? Does the...

Hey Guys - I was excited to find this app so downloaded, extracted, and installed it witrhout error. I couldn't see that an icon was made for it so found that /usr/bin/vmg was the executable so tried launching from that, but nothing happens when I execute it. I've spent the past two hours working on this by manually building & installing each of the prerequisites (plus their prerequisites) on my system. Finally after doing this, I've made no progress as it still doesn't launch. It's now one of those...
