0. mhGUI - a GUI for the minihomer GPS tracking device.

Josef Reisinger

Welcome to the minihomer wiki!

I own a minihomer device which use the device mainly for geo-correlation of my pictures taken on travel, where I am accompanied by a Linux based netbook. The windows-based software wasn't of any help in this situation, so I decided to write my own application to be run on Linux.
Thanks to the help of he manufacturer of the device, I got enough information of the binary protocol between the device and a PC to start programming.
The current state is still named "alpha", I am positive to be able to change it to "release" soon.

So far, these functions are implemented:

  • detect device on a serial port
  • download the five PoI and display them on the map
  • drag the PoI on the map and load the new coordinates into miniHomer
  • search an address and load the coordinates into miniHomer
  • display and change settings for power management
  • display and change the time/distance/speed settings for logging
  • display software levels of miniHomer
  • display usage of datalog storage

so far missing:

  • store loaded GPX track
  • erase track memory
