In just a few days Misantrof will have a 5 years birthday. That will mark the start of a new aera. In January 2007 I saw this coming - I knew CD sales would fail - That musicians hardly got paid by their labels anyway and that in reality "Sharing is caring" - When you share an artist you spread that artist to new potential fans and the only ones who lose are the labels who rip of the artist anyway.
I want to keep this year's annual speech as short as possible because what I want to say is so important I can not let it be overshadowed by trivial matters.
2012 mark the beginning of something codenamed "The Misantrof universal artistic freedom open source project" - The future begins now! The plan is simple and the technology already exist. Misantrof shall become the eternal protectors of art and freedom of speech for as long as humanity exist. We will develop a system so that any artist in the world can start his own ANTILabel and use our code to release even more underground artists
We want to take back the music industry for good this time, to destroy the commercial prostituion and we want to let music be art once more. We want to develop tools for artists to market themselves, to work together independent of borders and we want to develop a way to let you easily navigate through a growing jungle of independent art - We shall remain an independent underground art union forever.
There is only one way to forever ensure that no state or no corporate can ever stop us. We will completely decentralize the organization. We shall be everywhere but nowhere. And we shall be all of you! In the future Misantrof will be on your phone - on your PC or Mac - on your everything - We will connect the best underground art movements on this planet together and unite for art - And of course, still continue to give it to you for free! In return we will ask you only one favour - We want you to let us borrow a tiny part of your hard drive - That way the entire world becomes a server no one can take down and also you become a protector of artistic freedom while enjoying the art :)
We will also make it extremely easy for you to help, it will never cost you a dime, and any MB you can spare is another MB towards universal freedom for all artists on this planet.
For hundreds of years priceless art have been destroyed or simply censored away by mighty organizations, fundamentalists. IT STOP RIGHT HERE - ART SHALL NEVER BE CENSORED AGAIN!
