This project provides a Live DVD for the multibootusb program, for installing multiple Linux Distros on to a single Pen drive and able to boot from it. This is a portable system, which does not require any installation. Video Below.
This system can be started through the DVD Drive OR VirtualBox (See Below). This .iso file can also be written on to a small dedicated pen drive ( ~ 1 GB ) through this DVD's multibootusb program and further used for writing linux images on to other pen drives ( not on the same ! ) thereby making everything portable.
Note: Click "+ Other Locations" on the file manager for opening local disks, while browsing for images to write through this dvd's multibootusb program. Also note that the pen drive needs to be in fat32 format for proper booting. if in other formats, for eg. ntfs, you can use the GParted program that is in this dvd, to reformat it to fat32 ( will cleanup all data ). - 1. Portable System for installing multiple Linux Distros on to a single Pen drive
- 2. The dvd interface is easier for beginners while VirtualBox provides much faster access to this system. See Feature No. 11 for writing this iso file on to a DVD.
- 3. After installing Linuxes on to your pen drive, you need to boot through it, on your system, by changing the bios boot order temporarily
- 4. You can change the bios boot order temporarily by pressing the F12 key or option or equivalent key on your system. Also, pressing F2 can take you to the BIOS setup, where you can change the boot order priority ( and later revert it ). - 5. To poweroff the system, tap Power Button once or type poweroff on the XTERM and press enter
- 6. As shown in the video below, you can write to your pen drive through virtualbox itself, provided you can access them through the device menu on the top. If usb devices are not accessible for eg. on Linux, then first add your username to the vboxusers group, by issuing: sudo usermod -a -G vboxusers $USER where $USER variable is your username. reboot your system and then try again
- 7. If you are using virtualbox, then give atleast 512 MB memory or higher and a virtual hard disk large enough to download many distribution's iso files

- 9. This Live DVD is based on a Debian 32-bit Linux System, for wider compatibility across different hardware systems
- 10. If you have added a new virtual hard disk file in virtualbox, then you need to create a partition table on it first, then a new partition on it with filesystem type like ext4. Watch the gparted video given in the description above for it.
- 11. This iso file can also be Burned on to a DVD ( as an image ) using free programs like imgburn (windows), brasero (linux), burn (macosx) etc. and then change bios boot order, to start the system from this dvd. Search and check youtube videos, if you are new to this concept

It's fantastic the idea to do that project as live, I too would like to learn to do it. the one problem was I didn't find what is the user and the password by to begin.
