I just created a development environment for my students that focuses on the essential rules of the C++ language. I did this in just under a hour and am confident that enabling features step by step will teach the different layers of the language. Useful tools and very complete documentation of the API.

I use the ClassEditor tool to edit a java/android application. Besides the obvious lacks of java support in the ODE the code generator can simply be updated to my requirements.
