Important: If you edit or remove a payment method on the Google Wallet website, changes are saved to your Google Account.
Add a payment method
Add a card- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Click Add payment method
Add credit or debit card.
Important: This feature is only available in the US.
- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Click Add payment method
Add a bank account.
- Enter your bank account details.
- Click Save.
- In 2–3 days, in your bank account, you’ll find a deposit of less than $0.25 USD labeled “GOOGLE.” After you get your test deposit, follow the steps below to verify.
Verify on the Google Wallet website
- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment Methods.
- Click Fix now.
- Enter the amount that Google deposited into your account.
- Click Verify.
Edit a payment method
Edit a card- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Click the payment method.
- Click Edit.
If you get a notification to fix an expired card, click Fix now.
Important: This feature is only available in the US. To edit a bank account, remove and re-add the bank account to your account.
Remove a payment method
Important:
- If you remove a payment method from the Google Wallet website, it also removes the payment method from your Google account.
- Removing a payment method from the website may not remove it from the Google Wallet app. Learn more about changes to payment methods.
- Removing a buy now, pay later provider from the Google Wallet website doesn't affect your scheduled loan payments or relationship with the financing provider. Learn more about using buy now, pay later with Google Pay.
- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Click the payment method that you want to remove.
- Click Remove.
Turn virtual card numbers on or off (US only)
Important: This feature is currently available for eligible cards in the US only.
You may be able to use a virtual card number (VCN) to keep your card info more secure. Learn more about using virtual card numbers to pay online or in apps.
- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Select a payment method.
- Click Turn on or Turn off.
Tip: This is a different virtual card number from what is displayed in the Google Wallet app.
Common questions
Which payment methods are supported?You can add, edit, or remove a debit card, credit card, or bank account to the Google Wallet website.
Certain buy now, pay later providers are also supported to view and remove. To add or re-add a provider, select a buy now, pay later payment provider using Google Pay at checkout and follow the steps to link the selected provider. Learn more about using buy now, pay later with Google Pay.
Tip: Payment options may vary by region and select merchants.If the payment method isn’t already in the Google Wallet app:
If you add a payment method to the website, you still need to add the payment method in the app. Learn more about adding a debit or credit card with the Google Wallet app.
If the payment method is already in the Google Wallet app and saved in your Google Account:
- If you edit the payment method on the website, changes will reflect in the app.
- Removing the payment method on the website removes it from your Google Account, but it'll still be available in the Google Wallet app. To remove a payment method from the Google Wallet app on a specific device:
- Go to the Google Wallet website.
- On the left, click Payment methods.
- Tap the payment method.
- For any device listed, tap More
.
- Tap Remove from device.
Tips:
- You can only find this option if the payment method is also saved in your Google Account.
- Removing the payment method from a specific device removes it from being available to tap to pay in the Google Wallet app on your device. The payment method will still be saved to your Google Account.
