On the personal front, Nana Patekar married Neelkanti at 27, but life soon brought immense sorrow. At 28, he lost his father to a heart attack and later faced the heartbreaking loss of his first son. In an interview, Nana shared that his father played a pivotal role in nurturing his passion for acting by introducing him to theater.

Patekar began his film career with a negative role in Gaman. However, he gained recognition with the 1986 sleeper hit 'Ankush', which marked his arrival in the industry. He went on to star in a variety of films, both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, including 'Parinda', 'Tirangaa', 'Krantiveer', 'Agni Sakshi', 'Khamoshi', and 'Bhoot'. His outstanding performance in Agni Sakshi earned him the National Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition, Nana Patekar has become a well-known name in the entertainment industry. Despite growing up in tough financial conditions, he now has a net worth of Rs 80 crore. He earns Rs 2-3 crore per film and adds to his income through other deals and partnerships.
