Celebs take holy dip at the Maha Kumbh

Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and girlfriend Dakota Johnson kept everyone in a tizzy with their touch-and-go appearance at the Maha Kumbh Mela on Monday evening. The duo made a quick two-hour detour to Prayagraj to witness the mela and left for Delhi. Meanwhile the Kumbh has not just been attracting the general public but a host of celebrities too. And one among them is boxing champion and Olympic medalist Mary Kom who was quite excited to experience the ongoing Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj.
The renowned boxer took a dip at Sangam. Visuals of her displaying boxing moves in the midst of the river also surfaced on social media.
“Maha Kumbh is the epitome of our diverse culture which I wanted to experience. I am a Christian but wanted to see this biggest human and spiritual congregation which is attracting people from all over the world,” she said. “Maha Kumbh gives a very positive message and gives an opportunity to erase any kind of negativity any human harbours. This is my first time in Kumbh Mela which I was able to visit because of my business partner Hitesh Chaudhary, I had heard so much about it but now got the chance to witness it,” she said.
The sportsperson added, “Maha Kumbh is the biggest example of faith. Faith helps in every aspect of life. I need to have faith in myself to grow in my career and achieve for my country.”
