Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Amitabh Bachchan invites Karishma Sharma and family for lunch as she aces '10 Super Sandook' questions; latter reminds him about her 26-member family
In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, host Amitabh Bachchan played the Fastest Finger First round, where Karishma Sharma from Odisha secured her spot on the hot seat. Upon being selected, Karishma shared that appearing on the show was her father's dream, and she was fulfilling it on his behalf. She also revealed that she comes from a large joint family consisting of 25-30 members. Wanting to include them in her special moment, she requested Big B to connect with her family via video call. Amitabh Bachchan graciously obliged, speaking to the Sharma family as they showered Karishma with their best wishes.
Amitabh Bachchan read out the first question for Rs 1,000. "In a car, wipers usually clear dust and water from which of these surfaces?"
Feeling extremely nervous about being on the show, Karishma immediately considered using a lifeline, which took Big B by surprise. However, she quickly gathered her confidence and selected Option D) Windshield—which turned out to be the correct answer.
Host Amitabh Bachchan playfully teased Karishma for considering a lifeline on such a simple question. However, noticing her nervousness, he stepped up from his seat to comfort her. With his signature warmth, Big B gently held her hand and encouraged her to take three deep breaths. He even offered her water and tissues, ensuring she felt more at ease before continuing the game.

As the game resumed, Karishma gained confidence and correctly answered the ₹10,000 question. She then faced the Super Sawaal: "Which state in India has the most number of districts?" With determination, she answered "Uttar Pradesh", which was correct! This victory earned her the special power Dugnastraa, allowing her to double her winnings on a future question.
As Karishma progressed in the game, she faced the Rs 40,000 question: "Which of these places has GI tags for Paan, tabla, and shehnai?" With confidence, she selected Option D) Banaras, which was the correct answer.

This led to a nostalgic moment as host Amitabh Bachchan reminisced about shooting for the iconic song Khaike Paan Banaras Wala from Don. He shared anecdotes from the filming, making the moment even more special for Karishma and the audience.

Amitabh Bachchan shared an interesting trivia about Khaike Paan Banaras Wala, revealing that it was veteran actor Manoj Kumar who suggested adding the song to Don. He explained that since the fake Don in the film chewed paan, a song could naturally be built around it. Recalling the shoot, Big B mentioned that it lasted for 2-3 days, during which he had to chew so many paans that his mouth became sore. He also reminisced about the intense rehearsals and admitted to receiving scoldings for his dance moves. The anecdote left the audience entertained, offering a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of the classic song.

He shared, "Khaike Paan Banaras Waala, naach naach ke haal bura kar diya tha humara. Aapko maalum hai, uss film mein pehle ye gaana tha he nahi. Joh humare director hain, Chandra Barot woh Manoj Kumar ji ke assitant the aur ye unki pehli picture thi direction ki. Toh kyunki Manoj Kumar ji senior the toh salah lene ke liye unhone unko picture dikhayi. Toh Manoj Kumar ji ne kaha, ye second half men ek gaana hona chahiye. Toh ye sab baithe salah kiya kya karna chahiye, tab jaake ye gaana bana. Dusra character joh tha na nakli don paan khata tha, toh unhone kaha paan ke upar kuch bana do. Tab ye gaana bana."
He further talked about eating paan and dancing for the song, "Aur ye gaane ki shooting chalu 3-4 din, itna paan khana pada ke muh sadd gaya humara. Chuna, katha sab lagta raha, baar baar khake dikhana padta raha. Ye hogaya haal humara. Aur bahot kuch haal hua tha kharab humara lekin kya bataye, humko naachna aata nahi hai. Humko itna rehearsals karwaya, itna daanta, phatkara tab jaake joh aapne dekha hai parde par chora mota hogaya hai."

Big B next read out the question for Rs 80,000. In 2024, Nicolas Maduro became which country's president for a third term? Karishma selects Option C) Venezuela and wins the amount. For the Rs 1,60,000 question, Karishma uses 'Dugnastraa' but she fails to guess the answer and uses her 'Audience Poll' lifeline. Which of these Indian states shares its border with two countries? She locks Option B) Mizoram and it is the correct answer.

She next plays for Rs 3,20,000 question. What was the name of the mascots of the 2025 Kho Kho World Cup, which were depicted as gazelles? She selects Option C) Tejas-Tara and wins the amount. Next, Karishma plays 'Super Sandook' and she correctly answers all 10 questions. Host Amitabh Bachchan, who has a tradition of inviting contestants to his home for lunch if they successfully answer all 10 questions of ‘Super Sandook’ correctly, extended the same invitation to Karishma and her family. However, she quickly reminds him the number of members she has in her family. Big B says, "Kya bataye ye toh humare liye pareshaani hogayi hai, pure parivaar ko bulana padega. 25-30 toh inka parivaar hai. Hum aise nahi pehk rahe hain, 8 parivaar ko ab tak hum bula chuke hain."

Karishma jokes how this will be the first time that a family of 25-30 people would be visiting his home for lunch. Big B responds saying, "Ab aayenge jitne bhi aayenge usmein kya." He even asks her about their preferences. This special gesture left her overwhelmed with joy, making her Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 journey even more memorable.

For Rs 12,50,000 question, Karishma takes the help of another lifeline 'Video Call A Friend'. Which of these terms was used by the British for Indian Surveyors and explorers who mapped the Himalayas and Central Asia? She doesn't get any help, so she decides to use 'Double Dip'. She first selects Option B) Banjara but it is an incorrect answer. She then locks Option D) Pandit and it is the correct answer.

Next Big B reads out the question for Rs 25,00,000. In which event did the Egyptian athlete Nada Hafez compete in the 2024 Olympics while she was seven months pregnant? Karishma quits the show as she is not aware of the answer. Before leaving, she makes a guess and selects Option B) Archery which is incorrect, the correct answer is Option C) Fencing.

Karishma takes home Rs 12,50,000. The episode comes to an end.
