Security forces recover Maoist dump & explosives
Raipur: Security forces in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, recovered a Maoist dump during an anti-Naxal operation in the region and seized weapons, explosives and Naxal material.
Police said that security forces were out on anti-Naxal operation in the forests and hills of Gommaguda village, when the Maoists upon seeing the police party, abandoned their materials and fled the scene.
Jawans raided the dump and seized all the material.
The operation was a joint effort between the district police force and the 241st battalion of the CRPF.
"On the basis of continuous intelligence regarding the presence of naxals, a joint party consisting of district forces and the 241st Bastar Battalion of the CRPF, set out on a special anti-naxal operation on Jan 30. Upon observing police activities in the forests and hills of Gommaguda village, the Naxals took cover in the forest and bushes and fled the area. After searching the site, a large firearm, detonators, and other naxal materials hidden by the Naxals were recovered. Following this, the party conducted a thorough search and returned safely to camp," police said.
Security forces recovered a shotgun, two electric detonators, CCTV camera cover, gadgets, medicines and other material.
