Govind mentioned that RGV changed after he achieved a certain level of fame. He believes that fame and circumstances had an impact on the director, causing his creativity to shift. Govind expressed that now, whenever people see his recent work, it feels hard to believe it’s from RGV.

He recalls how he made Katrina Kaif who was a newcomer, perform in a film like 'Sarkar', when she didn't know Hindi properly and had no clue about things.

When Satya was re-released in theaters in January, 27 years after its original release, Ram Gopal Varma shared a heartfelt note on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging that he had become "drunk on his success" during his earlier years in the industry.


He wrote, “When the bright lights of a 'Rangeela' or a 'Satya' blinded me, I lost my vision and that explains my meandering into making films for shock value or for gimmick effect or to make a vulgar display of my technical wizardry or various other things equally meaningless and in that careless process, forgetting such a simple truth that technique utmost can elevate a given content but it can’t carry it.”
