Sudhir Mishra is a well-known Indian filmmaker and screenwriter, famous for his thought-provoking stories and socially relevant films. Mishra is remembered for his unique storytelling and strong character development, often blending realism with engaging plots. His work has earned him several awards and made him one of the most influential filmmakers in Indian cinema.
Recently, Mishra shared his fond memories of Naseeruddin Shah in an interview with Bollywood Bubble. He mentioned that there are only a few people who can truly make you feel alive, highlighting the significant impact Shah has had on him. Mishra recalled their first encounter, saying that when he was 20 years old and performing a street play at the National School of Drama (NSD), Naseeruddin came for a film shoot, and he had the chance to meet him briefly. He also expressed gratitude for the warmth Shah showed him during the filming of 'Sazaye Maut,' noting that Naseer was very affectionate during the shoot.

Mishra fondly recalled the generosity of Naseeruddin Shah and his wife, Ratna Pathak Shah, during a significant time in his life. He shared that they were such wonderful people that when he had just gotten married, Naseer left his home so that he could stay there, saying, “There aren’t people like that anymore.” This gesture was a true testament to the warmth and friendship that defines the film and theater community. While shooting at Naseer’s house, Mishra remembered that whenever a neighbor objected to filming, they would quickly move from one spot to another to avoid any trouble. He added, “Many films were made possible because of Naseer! He invested his own money into projects.”

On the work front, Sudhir Mishra's latest film is 'Afwaah,' released in 2023, and it has been well-received for its commentary on contemporary issues. He has also directed the TV series 'Tanaav,' which aired from 2022 to 2024.
