Ayurvedic doctor illegally practicing allopathy held

Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) arrested an ayurveda doctor who was practicing allopathy in the city. The accused, identified as Mantosh Biswas, was operating a clinic in Nandesari for the last few years. The police received a tip-off about him, following which they raided his clinic.

The police said he had a degree — Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) — from West Bengal, but he was practicing allopathy and had allopathic medicines in his clinic. The police added that Biswas didn't have registration with the Gujarat Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine for practicing here. The police seized all the medicines and injections from his clinic.
