Community spirit triumphs at Happy Streets in Bengaluru’s Ramamurthy Nagar
Bengaluru: Ramamurthy Nagar came alive Sunday as families, friends, and neighbours gathered for a perfect morning of fun, fitness, and new connections at Happy Streets, an initiative by The Times of India. The event brought the community together, offering a refreshing blend of activities catering to all age groups, near Central Bank of India, Kempegowda Underpass Road.
From 7.30am to 10.30am, the area transformed into a hub of energy and excitement. The day kicked off with high-energy Zumba sessions by Swingers Dance Inc, where enthusiastic participants swayed to beats, shaking off their weekday stress. For those seeking a more competitive edge, Decathlon set up an engaging space with a variety of sports and games, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork.
Adding to the morning's dynamism was a special self-defence session conducted by KenBuKai ShitoRyu Karate School of India. Sensei Chethan and his team demonstrated fundamental techniques, empowering attendees with skills to feel more confident and secure in their daily lives.
Meanwhile, Alert NGO volunteers equipped participants with life-saving CPR techniques, ensuring that everyone walked away with valuable knowledge on how to respond in emergency situations. The event wasn't just about physical well-being; it also sparked curiosity and wonder, thanks to the mesmerising tricks of magician Pradeep Tyson. Music filled the air as the band Navaraga took to the stage, delivering an electrifying performance that had the crowd grooving to tunes.
Acenovation had captivating storytelling sessions, keeping children and adults alike spellbound. Meanwhile, Reclaim Constitution engaged attendees with thought-provoking discussions on constitutional insights, sparking meaningful conversations on civic awareness. Pet lovers weren't left out either — Namma Pets had set up a play zone where furry companions had their own social hour, making new four-legged friends.
The event, brought to life by Bhima Jewellers with associate sponsorship from Croma Electronics, truly exemplified the spirit of community bonding.

It was a lot of fun! We heard about Happy Streets from our professors and decided to come here, and that turned out to be the best decision ever. A lot of people attended, giving us the chance to interact with many of them and discuss diverse topics. It's the perfect stress-buster, especially for our daughter as she was stressed about exams next week. This also provided a great way to spend quality time with family. It was exciting that even my kids, who usually never wake up early on weekends, are up and ready without me having to remind them. It's incredible to see them so eager to participate, and it has truly become a highlight of our weekends. This event not only brings joy and energy but also creates a perfect opportunity for families to bond and spend quality time together. My son actually came because his sister loves Zumba a lot and he wants to spend some time enjoying it with her, which has made my day a lot better

Never thought we could walk freely on the streets without the noise of vehicles and enjoy quality family bonding time. Waking up to the lively music and vibrant atmosphere makes for a refreshing and joyful start to the day. In today's world, where kids aren't getting enough social interaction, this event provides the perfect platform for them to engage, connect, and have fun

This is actually a very good initiative as it brings the community together in the morning. I wanted to be part of an energetic morning filled with fun activities, which is why I chose to perform here. So far, the energy has been absolutely great. The crowd is having a blast and I had an amazing time performing for them. Their enthusiasm was incredible, and the response I received while on stage was beyond my expectations

The platform has really helped us share our music with more people. Our goal was to connect with you all through our music, making sure everyone had a fun and memorable time. Looking at the response, we're happy we achieved that. Besides the performance, we were able to create some awesome memories together with foot-tapping popular numbers and more
