New Delhi: Addressing a public gathering in old Delhi's Hauz Qazi on Sunday, senior Congress functionary Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing criticism of both BJP and AAP. He displayed a bottle containing contaminated water to highlight AAP govt's alleged failure in providing clean drinking water to Delhi's residents.

Congress MP emphasised that while Mahatma Gandhi's legacy would endure through generations, Nathuram Godse would fade into obscurity.

"Kejriwal talked about a 'new type of politics'. He promised to clean Yamuna and end corruption. But this is what is being provided in Delhi. Kejriwal should drink a glass of this water; he will land in hospital," said Rahul, holding out the water bottle on stage.

He pointed out the alleged lack of representation for backward classes, Dalits and Muslims in Kejriwal's core team. "Kejriwal said he would do politics for the upliftment of the poor and backward. There is no Dalit, Muslim, Sikh, or backward person in his team. When there were riots in Delhi, Kejriwal was absent, but Rahul Gandhi came to meet you and listen to you," said Rahul.

He said, "I am present whenever there is an attack on backwards, Dalits, and Muslims. India is a country of love, respect, and brotherhood, not of hatred. Narendra Modi, RSS, and their friends spread hate."

He noted that Kejriwal, who once travelled in modest vehicles, now resided in a "Sheeshmahal". "Kejriwal spent Rs 45 crore on house construction. Is this the promise of a 'new type of politics'? It was all lies, just like Modi, who also speaks lies after lies. When you need help, Kejriwal is absent. Only Congress is there to protect you. I am there to protect the Constitution of India. The country remembers Mahatma Gandhi, not Godse," said Rahul.

Targeting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Rahul said: "Recently, Bhagwat said that India got Independence now under the rule of Modi and not in 1947. This means they do not believe in the Constitution, which protects us."
