UDF urges CM to take action

Thiruvananthapuram: UDF convenor MM Hassan has written to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, requesting a thorough investigation into the death of Mihir Ahmed, a student at Global Public School, Tripunithura. In his letter, Hassan pointed out that according to the 15-year-old's parents, their son's death resulted from severe ragging by his classmates. Mihir was brutally harassed both at school and on the school bus, with evidence supporting these claims obtained from his friends. They reported that he was taken to the washroom, where he was violently assaulted—his face forcibly pushed into the toilet and flushed. Additionally, Mihir was subjected to physical abuse and taunted over his skin colour, the parents alleged.

In light of these grave accusations, Hassan urged the govt to implement strict measures to prevent such brutal ragging in educational institutions. He also called on the education and home departments to take decisive action against those responsible.
