Thane: An Ambernath resident Arvind Barde (44), accused of helping a Bangladeshi family of four obtain forged Indian identity documents, was arrested from Mumbai airport on Friday following his deportation from Qatar.

On Sept 26, 2024, Arohi Barde, who acts in pornographic films, was arrested by Hill Line police for fraudulently acquiring an Indian passport using fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. She claimed to be Arvind's daughter. The case was transferred to the Thane crime branch unit-1.

Investigation revealed that in 2013, Arvind married Anjali alias Ruby Sheikh, a Bangladeshi Muslim and mother of three — Arohi alias Riya, Ritu, and Ravindra. Arvind allegedly facilitated their illegal stay in India by falsely declaring them as his biological children and helping them obtain forged documents, including Aadhaar and PAN cards, passports, caste certificates, and caste verification certificates fr-om Achalpur, Amravati, and Nagpur. The family was residing illegally in Ambernath.

Later, Arvind and Anajli fled to Qatar. Authorities issued a lookout circular against Arvind. He tried to re-enter India through Nepal, but was intercepted at the airport and deported to Qatar. He was extradited to India.
