Bengali community basks in Basant Panchami celebrations

Nagpur: The Bengali community of city performed their Saraswati Puja on Sunday. Some of the groups, including the Bengali Cultural Association's 65th year's puja at CPWD Quarters, Katol Road, will be held on Monday due to a difference in ‘tithi' or timing of the ritual.

The western part of the city's most popular puja, organised by Paschim Nagpur Bangiya Samiti, was held at the Institute of Science Hall on Sunday. Around 250-300 devotees participated in the Bengali community's most popular ritual of ‘pushanjali', followed by bhog. The puja was organised by Anjan De, Jayanti Bose, Karan Mukherjee, and others.

Nabanna Manish Nagar Bengali Association also organised their puja at Amrut Lawn, which was attended by at least 250 devotees from the vicinity. Many associations are likely to perform the puja on Monday across Nagpur.
