2 killed in 2 hit-&-run incidents in Lakadganj; accused still on the run
Nagpur: Two separate hit-and-run incidents in Lakadganj over the weekend have left two people dead, with the accused in both cases still at large.
In the first incident, which occurred around 11am, 73-year-old Arvind Shah, a resident of Wardhaman Nagar, was on his way to Jain Mandir on his moped when a white car struck him near the temple.
The car, driven by prime accused Pratik Gupta (27), a resident of Ganga Sankul, was reportedly speeding. Shah sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Ramdev Baba Hospital before being transferred to a private hospital in Sadar where doctors declared him brought dead.
The second incident occurred on February 1 at 8.30am when Pravin Junghare (36) was riding his friend's electric scooter near Mehta Petrol Pump, Lakadganj. An unknown truck driver, driving at high speed, recklessly hit Junghare's scooter and fled the scene. The severely injured Junghare was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead while undergoing treatment.
In both cases, cops registered cases of hit and run. A probe is under way to nab the accused.
