Two food poisoning incidents in Marathwada; students safe
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Two separate incidents of suspected food poisoning, involving students, were reported in Marathwada on Saturday. All students in both cases are safe.
A govt-aided residential school in the Waghala area, near Nanded, on Saturday reported a suspected food poisoning incident, prompting authorities to take the students to a state-run hospital at Vishnupuri.
"Eight students from Mataji Shikshan Sanstha-run residential school at Waghala complained of vomiting and nausea after having a meal in the morning. As a precautionary measure, we moved all 59 students enrolled in the school to the govt hospital at Vishnupuri. All students are safe and under observation," Shivanand Mingire, the assistant commissioner with social welfare, Nanded, told TOI.
In another similar incident, 11 students from an anganwadi and nearby zilla parishad-run school at Phulsing Nagar Tanda, of Beed's Majalgaon taluka, complained of vomiting after eating khichdi on Saturday morning. The students were moved to a nearby govt health centre and were said to be safe.
"Seven anganwadi students and four students from the zilla parishad school were shifted to the hospital after complaining of vomiting and nausea. All are stable now and will be released after being kept under observation for 24 hours," local health officials said.
