Congress candidate Baburao Chinchansur hurt in accident in Karnataka's Kalaburagi

BENGALURU: Congress candidate Baburao Chinchansur, who will be contesting from Gurmitkal seat, was injured along with his driver and gunman when the car he was travelling in overturned in Kalaburagi district in the early hours of Saturday.
Police said Chinchansur was returning from Yadgir when the driver lost control of the vehicle. To avoid crashing into a pole, he turned the car to the other side, due to which it overturned.The injured were rushed to hospital and their condition is stable.
Chinchansur, who was a BJP MLC, quit the party and resigned from the legislative council to join Congress last month. He was instrumental in the defeat of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge from Gulbarga LS constituency in 2019.
