Bhopal: A brief spell of showers was witnessed in Bhopal on Sunday afternoon. However, it failed to offer any respite from the heat. The day as well as night temperatures remained well above the normal mark.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said that the cyclone is in
Rajasthan and would have impact over east MP in the form of
rain and thunder.
Another system was cyclonic circulation over east
Bihar from which a trough line was passing till east MP. The systems may lead to thunder and rain while
monsoon is expected in MP after June 22, officials added.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Sunday was recorded at 38.8 degree Celsuius, three degrees more than the normal mark, while night temperature was 26.9 degrees, two degrees above normal. Wind direction was south-westerly with an average speed of 22 kmph.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Monday, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder and rain. Day and night temperatures would be 39 and 27 degrees respectively.
In other parts of the state, a warning of
heat wave was issued for Sidhi, Rewa, Narsinghpur and Balaghat districts. A possibility of rain and thunder was underlined for Gwalior and Chambal divisions.
